A Guide to Having the Ultimate Self-Care Day at Home

For some people, self-care days all about putting on a face mask and getting their nails done, while for others, it’s about cleaning the house and organizing kitchen cupboards and cabinets.

In this blog, we will share seven self-care ideas that you can do at home:

1.    Adequate Sleep

Plan your self-care day ahead of time so you can get a good night's sleep. Studies show that a good night's sleep can go a long way in regulating your energy levels throughout the day.

2.    Skincare

Skincare and self-care go hand in hand. Begin your self-care day with a healthy skincare routine. Use a face mask, cleanse, exfoliate and get rid of those dirty pores for a youthful glow. Apply your body lotions to hydrate and moisturize your skin.

3.    Self-Love Journal

Though underrated, self-love journaling can be extremely therapeutic. Write about all the admirable traits you think you possess and what you think others may think you possess. If you’re not sure where to start, a good way to begin is to set your timer for twenty minutes and don't stop writing till the timer stops!

4.    Digital Detox

Being constantly connected via social media can be overwhelming and exhausting, and sometimes we just need a break. Try incorporating mindful digital detox in your day by stopping yourself from checking your phone or laptop for a designated amount of time. An occasional break from screen time is calming and reduces anxiety levels— ideal for self-care.

5.    Be Creative

Getting in touch with your creative side can be an effective form of self-care as it allows you to see things from a different perspective. Indulge in an activity you find creative such as sketching, coloring, drawing, or painting, and use this time to blow off some steam from your daily worries.

6.    Prepare Healthy Meals

Make yourself healthy smoothies or meals that keep you full all day.
